Get into the ‘Open Passage’ 💫:
The Schoßkirchpassage between Burgstraße and Brandenburger Platz in Cottbus city centre has been almost empty for a long time. This autumn, several initiatives and associations rented space in the passage: Losmachen e.V. strengthens democratic civil society in Cottbus with its work. The BTU is launching COCO – Commoning Cottbus, a teaching project that aims to address urbanity, sustainability, cooperation and urban development in a very practical way as an urban laboratory. The Initiative for a Free Radio for Cottbus is planning local activities. And from December, the association Opferperspektive, Solidarisch gegen Rassismus, Diskriminierung und rechte Gewalt, will open an office for anti-discrimination counselling in southern Brandenburg.
With the launch of the initiatives and associations, there is an opportunity to develop another open and supportive place in the Cottbus centre – a meeting place where new projects can be created and which makes the diversity of Cottbus visible.
