The Lausitzer Rundschau has now also reported on the pressing issue of the housing shortage for students in Cottbus, which our SUB Initiative has already highlighted. The BTU Cottbus is experiencing a huge increase in students, particularly in international programs. However, there is insufficient housing for the many newcomers, leading to difficult situations for students like Erick Gibran Gonzales Torres. Our initiative, composed of members such as Nadeem Manjouneh, Robert Amat Kreft, and Reza Kaseb, is working on solutions, while neither the student services nor the city seem to feel fully responsible. Despite efforts from actors like GWC and support from BTU, the situation remains tense, and the demand for new student dormitories is growing louder.
